P4
The following photos were taking in a studio with a camera provided by the school and I was the one that took the photos and I also did not use any lighting except for the ones that were already in the room and I also I had the friend in the photos facing to the right whilst on a phone which is the prop. Three of them are long shots whilst one of them is a medium shot. And I will use the quick selection tool in Photoshop to just select the person in this photo as I do not want the background.
This photo might be used in my official poster but will be definitely used in my mock up posters that I am creating and after I have done all my mock up posters I will decide if I want to use this photo. I had my friend facing to the right so it looks like he is walking or having his back to something or someone.
This photo might be used in my official poster and is more likely to be used over the one above it but it will be used in some of my mock up posters. However if I do not like the way it looks in my mock up posters then I will not use it in my official poster. I had my friend facing to the right so it looks like he is walking or having his back to something or someone.
This photo will not be used in my final poster as it does not fit the image I want as I would like to have to it look like the character is walking in my poster and looking to the right as well. But there is a chance that it might get used in one of my mock ups posters. The framing of this one was different to the others and really it was just testing out different angles but in my opinion I don't think it would have worked for the idea I wanted.
This photo will not be used in my poster because one it looks to blurry and also it does not look like he is walking in the photo. This is likely to not be used in any of my mock ups or my final poster. I had my friend facing to the right so it looks like he is walking or having his back to something or someone.
Collage of things similar to poster
Above is some pictures that I took with a camera, the pictures are things that will be similar to the background or things in my poster. The middle left picture is going to be my background for my poster as it is at night and that is good because it is dark and the other pictures are all light unless I change it to black and white like the one in the bottom left and middle right and because my poster is for a horror movie I want it to be dark not light.
For the middle right I would cut out the person in the photo but not use the background because for my poster I want the teenager to not notice what is around them so if they are on their phone then that fits my idea.
Mock ups of posters
Mock up 1
Above is the picture of my first mock up and I used 1001 fonts to get the fonts for my title, tagline, actors and release date. I used the grim reapers off the internet but the background and the picture of the person is pictures I took. This relates to my first poster layout and colour scheme from P1. The only big negative poster about this poster is that the middle of does not have anything there so if I was to use this for my main poster I would have to change it and find something to put in the middle of the poster. Something else I could change if I was to use this for my main poster is that I could create a shadow of a man at the other end of the wall to the teenager on the phone as that was my original idea and I think that would create more of a scary effect than the grim reapers on the wall.
To get the picture I got of the person in my photo I used the quick selection tool on the original photo of him I took in the studio where I took photos for my main poster and mock up ideas and moved it over to a separate Photoshop page. The dimensions that I used for this poster mock up are 24x36 inches. To get the credits I used a mac instead of the PC I work on as the font that is needed for the credits is not on the PC so I used a template on a mac and changed some of he things that were on the template such as the names and the production company.
Mock up 2
Above is the picture of my second mock up and I used 1001 fonts to get the fonts for my title, tagline, actors and release date. I used the grim reapers off the internet but the background and the picture of the person is pictures I took. This relates to my second poster layout and colour scheme from P1. I probably won't use this idea for my main poster as I do not really like it that much for a lot of reasons mainly because of the layout of the writing such as the tagline being above the title of the film. Another thing that I do not like about this mock up and another reason why I wouldn't use this for my final poster is the the grim reapers do not look good in it and I do not really like the idea of the character in the middle as it is hard to show dominance from the villain in my film.
To get the credits for this poster mock up I used a mac to get access to the font that I needed and once I finished the credits I put them on the PC I was using to do my mock ups. The dimensions I used for this mock up were the same as every other mock up and the same I will use for the final poster and that is 24x36 inches.
Mock up 3
Above is the picture of my mock up and it is probably my favourite but if I was to use this for the final poster I would have to change some things and a big thing I would have to change would be that I would need to put something in the middle of the screen because there is nothing there and it looks blank so I was thinking of putting a shadow of a man to the right of the poster in the middle and that would probably make that better and I could probably make the shadow of the man by just using things in photoshop. I used the black and white for the title and actors to show that it is light against dark and that currently dark is winning. I got all the fonts in this poster so for the actors names, the tagline, the date and the title of a website called 1001fonts and I chose different horror style fonts because my film poster is for a horror movie.
The picture of the teenager in my poster is a picture I took of my friend in the studio at college with a canon camera that was provided, the background is a picture of a wall down the road where I live. And I go the credits by using a mac as that is the only way I could access the font that was needed for the credits and I made the credits grey because it means that they have no real role in the storyline of the film. The dimensions I used for this poster was 24x36 inches and I made the poster portrait instead of landscape because if I made it landscape I would have needed to put more things in the poster to fill it up.
Mock up 4
The mock ups that I like the most is probably the 1st and 3rd one because the layout of the things in the poster but I will need to change some things or add some things into them to make them look better to decide which one I use. I would probably go with the 3rd one and add in a shadow of a man on the wall to fill the poster up a bit more as the middle is empty.
Evaluation Of The Processes
At first I wasn't going to use the studio to take photos for my poster I was originally going to take the pictures outside of school down my road at the wall that is my background but I decided to take the photos in the studio and just stick the cropped picture of the person on the background in Photoshop. I did this for two reasons one of them was that it would have been hard to get my friend who I took picture of for my poster to get to the location at the same time as me during our free times and secondly I would have been able to use a high quality camera instead of just taking the pictures with my phone but that didn't make much difference.
My location recce for the wall was kind of useless because I only ended up taking a picture of the wall by myself with no charterer in the picture as I took the pictures of the character in my poster in the studio at college. However the risk assessment did still apply to me when I was taking the photo of my background at night. My location recce and the risk assessment for the studio were both useful to me as I knew not to take any liquid in there as it could have damaged the equipment and because of that none of the equipment was damaged however there was some difficulty with the camera at first as it wasn't taking any photos so we changed the camera but then there was still difficulty so I had to take it off auto focus and put it on manual focus. However some of the photos that I got from the photoshoot came out blurred and I believe this happened because I felt like I needed to rush because it was nearly the end of the lesson but if I took the photos outside of the lesson I wouldn't have needed to rush and none of the photos would have come out blurry. The camera I used in the studio to take the photos was a canon camera. Below are two photos that came out kind of blurry because I was in a rush.
Planning helped me to get the photos I wanted as when I got to the studio I knew I wanted a picture of my friend to the right of the picture holding his phone to his ear or looking at it in his hand whilst looking like he was walking to the right. This helped because I didn't have to spend time thinking of what pictures to take as I would have wasted my time in the studio and I would have to use the studio again another time. Knowing what I wanted my poster to look like was good because I could then picture in my head what else will be around my friend in the actual poster whilst taking the photo.
I now wish that I took the photos outside of lesson or towards the start of the lesson as I would have known I didn't need to rush and I could have got more good quality photos than I did but I still feel I got some good pictures for my poster.

Mock up 4
This poster has some things I like but it does not have a proper background as it is just plain black and does not really have anything to do with the storyline unless it shows that he is in the wall but people would not know that so this would probably be the poster I would not use. In this poster I have manged to get the middle filled up but because it does not have a proper background it doe snot look good but if I was to use the background I used for my other 3 mock ups I can't put the character in the middle because it would not look right. The photo of the teenager was my friend that I took a picture of and that was taken in the studio at college. I obtained all of fonts from a website called 1001 fonts and they are all fonts that would be seen as fonts for horror movie posters and that fits mine.
I got the credits by using a mac as that is the only way I could access the font for the credits, I used a template and just changed some of the names and the jobs like costume designer and executive designer. The grim reapers of the side of the screen are not made by me but I changed the original picture to make it look like my own as I changed the colour of the eyes and other things to red. The dimensions I used for this poster mock up was 24x36 inches and I made it portrait instead of landscape as it would not look good in landscape.
